Third Mind Blues

An unlikely musical pair, Doors keyboardist, Ray Manzarek, and slide-guitarist, Roy Rogers, collaborate to create "Twenty-First Century Blues."

Synopsis

Third Mind Blues, directed by William Tyler Smith, is an exploration of the very unlikely musical collaboration between two American music icons, Doors keyboardist, Ray Manzarek, and blues/slide guitarist and Johnny Lee Hooker producer, Roy Rogers as they create their own unique sounding "Twenty-First Century Blues."

William Burroughs once said that when two creative minds come together to collaborate, a new “Third Mind” is created.  Third Mind Blues allows the audience to experience something rarely seen, Ray and Roy’s behind-the-scenes creative process from songwriting to recording to live performances. Unlike many music documentaries, Third Mind Blues, sensitively and uniquely captures the chemistry and emotional bond between Ray and Roy.  The audience will understand and experience how and why these two very different personalities and musical souls collaborate so well together. Smith's twenty-year personal friendship with Manzarek pays off as the audience will see another, more private side of these two music icons.

Third Mind Blues is a beautifully sculpted visual tapestry of Ray and Roy's unique "Third Mind"
